On the quay, left as you face the water

Camogli is pinched between the hill and the sea. It is easy to reach by train and awkward by car, which is worth knowing before you set off.

• By train

  Camogli–San Fruttuoso sits on the Genoa–La Spezia line. Seven minutes downhill from the station, and the downhill becomes uphill on the way back.

• On foot

  From the centre there is no other way: cars do not reach the quay.

• By boat

  In summer the ferry from Recco and San Fruttuoso ties up two hundred metres along.

• By car

  The car parks are up the hill and there are few of them. On a Saturday in August you will realistically not find a space.
